Frequently Asked Questions

Wine Shipping FAQs Cargo Insurance
Is cargo insurance included in my shipment?
Yes! Cargo insurance is automatically included in your freight rate. It’s provided through Travelers Insurance—one of the most trusted names in the industry. And we’re proud to offer great built-in cargo insurance with some of the highest released values in the industry with every shipment.
Can I buy additional insurance?
Absolutely! You can purchase additional insurance if you want coverage beyond what’s included. Pricing depends on the number of pallets and the total value of your product. Simply use our additional insurance calculator for pricing.
How much does additional cargo insurance cost?
Use our additional cargo insurance calculator to get instant pricing based on your specific shipment details.
What is the released value for my shipment?
Released value is the maximum insurance coverage for a shipment. Each product shipment, whether LTL or FTL, is automatically covered up to $126 per case, or $7,056 per pallet, based on wholesale value – at no additional cost to you. For more details or to check rates for additional insurance (optional), visit our Insurance page.

Wine Shipping FAQs Cargo Security & Tracking
How do I know my cargo will be safe?
Advantage Transportation consistently ranks above national safety averages. We’ve built a reputation as one of the most secure and reliable carriers in the industry, and we include a number of modern security measures in every shipment.

How do I report an Advantage Transportation driver?
We take safety very seriously. If you witnessed unsafe driving by one of our trucks, please first confirm it was an Advantage Transportation vehicle based out of Salt Lake City, UT (other companies share the name but aren’t affiliated). If so, please report incidents directly by emailing info@advantagetran.com or calling 801-956-0296. Helpful details include truck or trailer number, license plate (even partial), location, and approximate time of the incident.
We are extremely proud of our drivers’ experience, reliability, and specialized training they’ve received. As a local family-owned business, it’s personally important to us that we retain our clients’- and the public’s – hard-earned trust. We want the opportunity to address any issues directly with our drivers to remedy the situation immediately – leaving a bad business review will not help us do that, so we appreciate you reaching out!
